Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for September 16 (ONPP)
II Timothy 1 – 4, Psalms 72
II Timothy 1:1 – II Timothy is probably Paul’s last letter before he was executed.
II Timothy 1:12 – Paul has committed the salvation of his soul to God, knowing full well that he, Paul, could not keep it himself or even obtain it himself but, it is given by God and kept in a trinity of protection.
II Timothy 1:14 – God has committed His Holy Spirit to dwell within us as a commitment, down payment, of His promise of redemption. The full payment has been made through the death of the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God, Jesus the Christ, and we are just waiting to be picked up.
II Timothy 2:2 – Paul’s charge to Timothy has had a long reach to us. Timothy and all those faithful men throughout time have been faithful to continue this reach, not through Paul’s charge but from the leading of the Holy Spirit in God’s will.
II Timothy 2:5 – The competitor will not be crowned if they are disqualified.
II Timothy 2:15 This command is one of the reasons for this Bible reading plan.
II Timothy 3:2–9 – Man does not get better and better with the increase of technology. He just has easier ways to be disobedient to God. The lazy will follow the easier, Godless, path, making themselves their own god of slough, and not see their disobedience due to their veil of ignorance. This veil is just a covering because the whole creation is a witness of the Glory of God.
II Timothy 4:13 – Paul was expecting a cold winter. This also shows that Paul was not relying on his earlier learning in the synagogue but continued to study when he could.
II Timothy 4:16 – Paul’s forgiveness mirrors God’s mercy and grace, allowing us that have rejected Him in the past to repent and honor Him with faith not being rejected but accepted by the saints.
Psalms 72:6 – The leadership is to encourage the growth of the people not try to divide them by their differences.
Psalms 72:10 – Prophesy for King David’s son!
Psalms 72:11 – Also here is the prophecy of the eternal king, The King of Kings, the Son of God, Jesus the Lord.
Psalms 72:13 – If you don’t need God in your own mind then He will honor your choice but if you need God and his help He will save you.
Psalms 72:17 – Israel knew that the Sun was not devoured at sunset and reborn at sunrise as the Egyptian religion supposes. They knew that the Sun shone continuously and it was the Earth that turned to hide it from our eyes.
Psalms 72:18 – Yes blessed is the Lord with all that is within me.
