Catechisms
The word "catechism" can be intimidating. It invokes a feeling and thought of cold, rigid, "high church" practice. I used incorrectly, it can be all of those things.
When used correctly, though, a catechism is a very beneficial memorization tool. It is simple a question and answer that are memorized in personal and/or family devotion to teach and learn Scripture, doctrine, and Biblical truth.
