Bible Reading for November 29 (ONPP)
Revelation 10 – 12, Psalms 135
Revelation 10:4 – God does not tell us everything. He gives us what we need to perform His will in us and we will patiently wait for the time we are in Glory with Him.
Revelation 10:6 – After the happenings that the seven thunders sounded this angel swore that there should no longer be time. We will then be in God’s eternal domain where there is no night and the light proceeds from the throne of God.
Revelation 10:9 – As also Ezekiel was told to take the little book and eat it so was John.
Revelation 10:11 – Not only was John to write this book but was to be released and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a second and third generation of people so as to call them to redemption.
Revelation 11:1 – God is showing John that the temple grounds is reserved for believers only and the area outside it that was for the gentiles or unbelievers. The real worship was in the temple proper with the alter and sacrifice made for sin while the false worship was outside without an acceptable sacrifice.
Revelation 11:3 – There are two that are publically witnessing to the people and are being reported about through the whole earth. They are being protected by God and have been given defensive capabilities until their appointed time. Their names are not mentioned but are referred to as Moses and Elijah because Jesus talked to those two in front of His disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration. I personally feel that they will be Enoch and Elijah because they had never died and God says it is appointed man once to die then the judgement. What about rapture you say? I Thessalonians 4:17.
Revelation 11:8 – Jerusalem is called Sodom and Egypt due to its lusts and worship of false gods.
Revelation 11:10 – The people are glad that God’s prophets are dead. They had shut up the rain and turned the waters to blood and called up so many plagues in the three and one half years that they preached.
Revelation 11:12 – Come up is the same word that is used in Rev 4:1 telling John to come up.
Revelation 11:13 – After the resurrection of the prophets and the earthquake the rest of the people in the city glorified God hopefully turning to Christ for salvation.
Revelation 12:1 – This woman is the nation of Israel, called His wife many times in the Old Testament. Joseph’s dream described his parents as the sun and moon, with him and his brothers as stars.
Revelation 12:5 – Satan had been trying to kill the line to the Messiah from the beginning. God had other plans for His anointed one and kept His line and Him safe. I wonder how long He was sheltered in Bethlehem and Egypt. Possibly about three and one half years?
Revelation 12:13 – There was persecution of the nation of Israel when they had the Promised Land and when they did not. Yet there will be even more persecution in this apoplectic time.
Psalms 135:8 – Ok, that answers a question that came up in a conversation with our pastor. Both man and beast were smote and why would it be just livestock. It could have been wild animals, even down to the smallest insects.
Psalms 135:15 – Man tries to improve his gods by putting pretty things on them but they have no power or ability of themselves.
