II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Bible Reading for November 16 (ONPP)
Daniel 11 – 12, Psalms 124
Dan 11:2 – Could this be the same one that is known as Ahasuerus or Xerxes in the book of Esther?
Daniel 11:4 – This verse confirms that Alexander the Great is the Greek that comes to depose the ruler of Persia. Yes Alexander died early in life and his four generals divided the lands for themselves.
Daniel 11:6 – Two of Alexander’s generals gain much power and try to bring peace through marriage between their families but it was not to be.
Ptolemaeus Lagus – King of the south
Ptolemy Philadelphus
Ptolemaeus Euergetes – attacked north 46 yr reign
Ptolemaeus Philopater – entered Holy of Holies.
Ptolemaeus Epiphanes
Seleucus Nicanor – King of the north
Antiochus Theos
Seleucus Callinicus
Antiochus the Great – lost final battle to Rome
Seleucus Philopater – oppressor to his people
Both wanted Judea
Daniel 11:7 – The next ruler of the south came to avenge his sister’s killing and defeated the northern kingdom.
Daniel 11:10 – The sons of the northern ruler built up their forces and came down and at first were beaten.
Daniel 11:12 – The southern king then defied God and entered the Holy of Holies.
Daniel 11:15 – Could the king of the south (now his son) have avoided this destruction if he had not dishonored God’s temple?
Daniel 11:18 – Now this northern ruler attacks others in his pride of victory and these others are ROMANS!
Daniel 12:1 – Again two mountains in the distance look close together but are far apart. Will the time of trouble in the Great Tribulation be similar to that in the last chapter between the families of two of Alexander’s generals?
Daniel 12:2 – A preview of the resurrection.
Daniel 12:7 – A time 1 + times 2 + half 1/2 = 3.5 years, ?after the Antichrist breaks the covenant with Israel?
Daniel 12:10 – It is so sad that so many people will not understand because of their hatred of God’s plan. That which is the hope and joy of the people of God is the envy of their neighbors, and that is the holy covenant. Esau hated Jacob because he had got the blessing. Esau hated Jacob because he had sold his blessing (freely and without regard to it) to Jacob for a bowl of red bean soup. Those that are strangers to the covenant are often enemies to it.
Daniel 12:11 – 1,290 days or 3.5 prophetic years and 30 days.
Daniel 12:12 – 1,335 days or 3.5 prophetic years and 75 days. Another 45 days for those who wait. These last two time periods give us an exact passage of time for these events to occur. We do not have to worry about how a year is counted.
