II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Bible Reading for November 13 (ONPP)
Daniel 6 – 7, Psalms 122
Daniel 6:7 – These officials did not believe in real gods. They knew that handmade images could do nothing. They also coveted Daniel’s position and hated his honest accountability.
Daniel 6:8 – Now the law is not just only to the king but is unchangeable once made. The Medes and Persians may have thought that having this first rule that a law could not be changed would cause a ruler to consider the ramifications before enacting a law that was unwise. But people being people act in their own sin and pride rather in others behalf.
Daniel 6:24 – Not only did the covetous men pay with their lives but their sons and wives did also. Sin has an effect greater than just the action. Once released it spreads like a virus. Sin does not need contact to spread because it is built in from Adam’s fall, therefore we are all guilty of sin. We have all put our own wishes ahead of God’s, thus violating the first commandment.
Daniel 6:26 – This is the second time a king has given honor to God because of the faithfulness that God gave to Daniel.
Psalms 122:1 – It is the will of God that we gather together in worship. We need to have fellowship, praises of victories and, prayers of concerns to keep us from feeling depressed like Elijah was when Jezebel was after him while not realizing that God had reserved seven thousand men that were true to Jehovah.
