Bible Reading for May 27 (ONPP)
Acts 11 – 13, Psalms 126

Acts 11:12 – Peter was wise to take six witnesses with him so that the disciples in Jerusalem would be convinced by the multitude of testimony.
Acts 11:15 – This visual manifestation of the Holy Spirit was for the brothers that came with Peter so they may also testify of the miracle of salvation for the Gentiles.
Acts 11:18 – This should give them further courage to go out to Samaria and the whole earth to make disciples for Christ.
Acts 11:20 – I guess there were a few that were chased off because of the stoning of Stephen before Peter’s encounter, had not heard that they were only to tell the Jews.
Acts 11:22 – The first commissioned missionary of the church.
Acts 12:12 – Evidently those praying for Peter to be released did not expect it to happen. If they had they would have set a place for him before he arrived. Even if we do not have the faith of a mustard seed our prayers can still be in His will. It is so wonderful when He guides us to seek His will.
Acts 12:14 – Irony.
Acts 12:17 – This James was not John’s brother but Jesus’s half–brother.
Acts 12:23 – God called Herod to a reckoning. We all are called to a reckoning but if we put our trust in the payment that Jesus made through His death on the cross our books will have already been reconciled. If not we are responsible to pay the debt of sin ourselves.
Acts 13:8 – This Elymas, a gate to hell for the proconsul, could not withstand the Word of God from Saul.
Acts 13:26 – This word of salvation to whomever fears God is probably what launches the ire of the synagogue rulers. Their prejudice against the Gentile people and pride of the “Jews” being God’s chosen people is still inherent in them.
Acts 13:33 – When God makes a promise He sees that it is fulfilled.
Acts 13:46 – Those that reject Christ judge themselves and do not need God or any man to judge them. John 3:18
Acts 13:50 – The priests that were covetous over their own position, stirred up those that loved the ruling positions and social positions in the city to eject Paul and Barnabas.
