In Deuteronomy Moses restates the doctrine that God has given Israel to live by.
Doctrine –
a codification of beliefs
or a body of teachings
or instructions
taught principles
or positions
In a given branch of knowledge
or in a belief system
Deuteronomy 1:8 – God did not change His mind to give the land to Abraham’s decedents. He is fulfilling His promise.
Deuteronomy 1:26 – This is Israel’s first chance to cease their traveling and settle down.
Deuteronomy 1:29 – God gives Israel a second chance to obey through Moses’s encouragement.
Deuteronomy 1:32 – When we do not believe God, we make ourselves, our fear, our imaginations, more important to us than God, His power, and ability.
Deuteronomy 1:43 – The results of disobedience stacked on disobedience.
Deuteronomy 2:1 Wandering around Mt. Seir, for 38 years, outside of the border of Edom, being humbled by the memory of their unbelief. And all that time God is providing manna for them.
Deuteronomy 2:4 – Not all the land you come to belongs to you. Israel was to be good neighbors to those that God had not intended for them to conquer.
Deuteronomy 2:9 – Moab is also a neighbor and not to be possessed by you.
Deuteronomy 2:10 – Emin? Giants of times past.
Deuteronomy 2:20 – Zamzumim? Giants of times past.
Deuteronomy 2:24 – Are Amorites part of Ammon? Evidently Sihon was not a son of Ammon but had usurped the position he held because God stated in Deuteronomy 2:19 that Israel was not to trouble the sons of Ammon.
Deuteronomy 2:30 – A hardened heart without grace for God’s people.
Deuteronomy 3:1 – Moses recounts the evidence of God’s provision that they may trust His plan.
Deuteronomy 3:11 – This is a long bed being 13 1/2 feet but 72″ wide is more narrow than a king size. If the bed was meant for one person then Og certainly was a giant apparently being twice the stature of a modern man. Did his fear of Israel (Jehovah) cause him to retreat to Ammon?
Deuteronomy 3:26 – Oh Moses it was you that lost your temper and struck the rock instead of speaking to it. You are using the same excuse that Adam did when he ate of the fruit. This other was the cause of it.
Deuteronomy 3:27 – God gave Moses a glimpse of the land in which Israel will inherit.
