Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for July 6 (ONPP)
Esther 4 – 8, Psalms 10
Esther 6:10 – Mordecai the Jew was condemned to die but raised to provide salvation for others.
Esther 6:13 – Now Haman has similar feelings of regret that Ahasuerus had when he began to miss Vashti. Just like Vashti’s excommunication, Haman’s decree cannot be changed. Haman’s decree however affects the man that the king delights to honor and the queen also.
Esther 7:8 – Evidently the king had already made up his mind because men were there to haul Haman away with a covering over his face.
Esther 8:8 – Unlike Nebuchadnezzar who had full authority to do or change any command, Ahasuerus could not change a command already given. This could have been instituted to either encourage the king to be more thoughtful before issuing a decree or to keep a fickle king from making rambling decrees giving the nation an inconsistent path leaving them open for others to invade and conquer them.
Psalms 10:4 – The wicked will not seek after God. Our pride in our selves keeps us from honoring God as the source of our life. We begin to think of ourselves as more important while we desire to limit God’s influence in our lives. When we advise and direct others, we become more accountable to God to give them the advice that would lead them closer to Him and not glorify ourselves.
Psalms 10:5 – The wicked can’t even see that there is a God to be worshiped except themselves. They blind themselves with their own desires.
Psalms 10:13 – The wicked do not want judgement. They will tell you not to judge them but they judge themselves because they reject God’s precepts. Their claim of being judged by someone is false. One does not judge whether an apple tree is an apple tree, it just is, because it produces apples. These wicked also judge God as Job began to do until he heard from God.
