Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for July 19 (ONPP)
I Corinthians 13 – 14, Psalms 21
I Corinthians 14:3 – Prophecy is to be uplifting, praising to God, and reassuring. By telling someone that does not believe in Christ that they are Hell bound is not putting them down because they are already down and don’t know it. To tell them they are Hell bound is to give them knowledge of a path not Hell bound. And that path away from Hell is the knowledge that need to hear.
I Corinthians 14:6 – It is better for the hearer to understand the message that is given than to give a great message that cannot be understood.
I Corinthians 14:7 – Instrumental performances are useless unless there is a message that can be understood with it. Someone not knowing the song, Amazing Grace, will not recognize the meaning even if played on bagpipes.
I Corinthians 14:9 – Amen, preach understanding words that others may grow in Christ!
I Corinthians 14:20 – Have adult understanding but with childlike (pure) intentions.
I Corinthians 14:22 – Even plain language communication to those who do not believe is foreign to them.
I Corinthians 14:33 – God does not change His plan for if He did it would be confusing not knowing which to follow. The religions of man do however change based on their needs at the time.
Psalms 21:8 – Observe the description of his enemies. They are such as hate him. They hated David because God had set him apart for himself, hated Christ because they hated the light; but both were hated without any just cause, and in both God was hated, John 15:23, John 15:25.
