Bible Reading for July 11 (ONPP)
Job 9 – 12, Proverbs 28
Job 9:2 – Job sees his own sin and tries to enlighten these three also.
Job 9:3 – Job sees very clearly that God is supreme, holy and righteous.
Job 9:4 – Job rightly says that God does not bless those that are against Him. You think blessings come from God because you have money power or possessions? No! Those things are a trap. They hold you in belief that those things are a sign of God’s blessing. They are not. Repent from sin and believe in God’s plan of redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Job 9:8 – In one instance Jesus rebuked the storm and in another He walked on the water.
Job 9:9 – Job affirms that these things were made by God.
Job 9:14 – Job acknowledges God’s knowledge and power.
Job 9:15 – Job seeks mercy from the Lord and has no defense of his own self even if he were righteous.
Job 9:20 – Self justification is a condemnation of yourself because there is none righteous.
Job 9:33 – Job sees the need for a mediator that can be part God and part man. This mediator God has given us, the only begotten of the Father, the man Christ, Jesus.
Job 10:2 – Job is not patient here, he wants to know why this is happening.
Job 10:7 – Now Job is relying on his past actions to show his righteousness. Righteousness is not something someone earns. The sentence of death is earned by us because we rejected God and His plan for us.
Job 10:14 – Job is not looking at himself through God’s eyes he is still looking at himself based on his past actions of honoring God.
Job 10:22 – Job started out in Chapter 1 blessing God even after losing family and fortune. Even in Chapter 2 Job corrects his wife’s attitude by still giving God the glory.
Job 11:7 – No matter how big my pride is and no matter how much I read God’s word I can never find out all that God is.
Job 12 – Job gives God honor in respect to His abilities even coming to the point that God is totally in charge of all things.
Proverbs 28:2 – There will be many leaders that go through their office in a sinful land but because of the righteous the Lord tarries in judgement.
Proverbs 28:10 – Evil people setting traps for the righteous will get their trap as their reward.
Proverbs 28:13 – Don’t let your pride keep you away from God and mercy. Being forgiven is better than fearing to be exposed.
Proverbs 28:14 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:29 instead they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah.
Proverbs 2:5 then you shall understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the wicked mouth.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 10:27 The fear of Jehovah prolongs days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of Jehovah is strong hope, and His sons shall have a place of refuge.
Proverbs 14:27 The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life to turn aside from the snares of death.
Proverbs 15:16 Better is a little with the fear of Jehovah than great treasure and tumult with it.
Proverbs 15:33 The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility.
Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth, iniquity is purged, and by the fear of Jehovah men turn away from evil.
Proverbs 19:23 The fear of Jehovah tends to life, and he rests satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of Jehovah are riches and honor and life.
Proverbs 23:17 Do not let your heart envy sinners; but be in the fear of Jehovah all the day long.
Proverbs 28:18 – By walking uprightly you are demonstrating faith in God’s Word.
Proverbs 28:24 – The commandment says to honor your father and mother.
Matthew 15:3–6 But He answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, “Honor your father and mother”; and, “He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him die by death.” But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother, Whatever you would gain from me, It is a gift to God; and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you voided the commandment of God by your tradition.
