Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for January 20 (ONPP)
Genesis 45 – 47, Psalms 17
Genesis 45:1 – Joseph sees that Judah the one who sold him to slavery was willing to take the place of Benjamin for the sake of Jacob.
Genesis 45:27 – Did they also confess their guilt to their father?
Genesis 46:1 – Beer-sheba is the old home place for the family, the place the covenant was made to Abimelech, the place Abraham planted a tree and called upon God.
Genesis 46:4 – God is saying that Israel (Jacob and prophetically the nation) will return to Canaan to take possession but Jacob will die in Egypt proper because at that time Egypt was in control of that Eastern Mediterranean area.
Genesis 46:27 – From entering Egypt with 70 of Jacob’s family plus their servants and getting the best of the land for their flocks to coming out 215 years later with over 600,000 men plus women and children shows the great blessing God had granted them. Paul confirms this time frame in Galatians 3:16 And to Abraham and to his Seed the promises were spoken. It does not say, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, “And to your Seed,” which is Christ.
Galatians 3:17 And I say this, A covenant having been ratified by God in Christ, the Law (coming into being four hundred and thirty years after) does not annul the promise, so as to abolish it.
Genesis 47:25 – Pharaoh’s nation is totally federalized Pharaoh owns all the land, cattle and people except for the places of worship and priests. Oh yes, the Israelites are presently free and have their own land that was given to them.
