Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for January 13 (ONPP)
Genesis 30 – 32, Psalms 11
Gen 30:35-43 – Laban took out all the black, striped, speckled, and spotted and sent them with his sons three days journey away from the white sheep and Jacob. Jacob then was to have any of the newborn that were black, striped, speckled, or spotted. Much conjecture was made about the rods whether they were to add sap to the water to make the ewes come into heat or hold them together for more time to breed. In any case it was God that caused Laban’s white sheep to produce striped, speckled, or spotted as Laban changed the conditions of the wages. Have you ever realized it was Laban that had taken away the white sheep to keep from enriching Jacob.

Genesis 31:3 – God had blessed Jacob these last twenty years telling him how to increase his riches for his family and coincidentally for the whole nation of Israel. God is also bringing Jacob back to the place that Jacob committed to trusting God if He took care of him and returned him home Genesis 28:20-21.
Genesis 31:7 – Laban changed Jacob’s wages in the beginning by swapping Leah for Rachel.
Genesis 31:35 – Laban knew even before God’s commandments to Israel that blood was sacred and unclean for people.
Genesis 31:50 – Laban is again trying to put conditions on Jacob that have never been agreed to before. If the roles were reversed would Laban have been as honest in his work as Jacob was?
Genesis 31:52 – Is it true that the best neighbors have a good fence between them? Well this says that neighbors should visit each other without malice.
Genesis 32:7 – Jacob, Jacob, Jacob did not God say that he would be with you. All this is unnecessary but it may convince Esau that you have changed.
