Numbers 7, Psalms 50
Numbers 7:1 – Just as they waited till everything was prepared before they gave their offering they also prepared together to bring it so should we also be prepared as is stated in Matthew 5:23–24.
Numbers 7:5 – As soon as the Tabernacle was set up, anointed, and sanctified God has Moses to prepare to take it down and move at any time. Our life in relationship with God is also to be ready to move whether in obedient steps of giving, exhorting His Word, death, or rapture.
Numbers 7:7 – The Gershonites were to take down, transport and put up coverings for the tabernacle and the curtains that divided the court of sacrifice from the congregation along with their door supports. These coverings and curtains could be easily folded and stacked.
Numbers 7:8 – The Merariites were assigned to take down, transport, and put up the supporting boards, pillars, pins, and sockets of the curtains of the tabernacle and curtains that divide the court of sacrifice from the congregation. This larger bulk was evidently twice as much as the Gershonite assignment.
Numbers 7:9 – The furniture of the tabernacle is set apart and must be handled with great care so that their Holy purpose is not defiled.
Numbers 7:10 – The offerings were brought in over a two week period with a Sabbath observed after the sixth day.
Numbers 7:12 – God gave Juda the first place of honor in the camp to show where the Messiah would come from. Nahshon was not called a prince. Some say it’s to keep Judah from being puffed up while others say it holds that title for the Messiah.
Numbers 7:84 – These offerings took up twelve days.
Day 1 was for Judah
Day 2 was for Issachar
Day 3 was for Zebulun
Day 4 was for Reuben
Day 5 was for Simeon
Day 6 was for Gad
Day 7 was for Ephraim
Day 8 was for Manasseh
Day 9 was for Benjamin
Day 10 was for Dan
Day 11 was for Asher
Day 12 was for Naphtali
They did not stop the sacrifice for the Sabbath Day because each of these days was holy.
Psalms 50:1 – God is a God of light not darkness. Light reveals both the good and the bad.
Psalms 50:2 – God reveals Himself from the people of Israel. God chose them to be the ones to spread His Law to the nations.
Psalms 50:3 – A reference to the Mountain of God where the Law was given and to the final battle?
Psalms 50:4 – Trumpet of resurrection?
Psalms 50:7 – Those that profess to believe in God but don’t do His will will be on trial for their sin. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord ty God in vain.
Psalms 50:8 – Our sacrifices will not be dismissed or ignored. Good thing Jesus is the sacrifice for my sin!
Psalms 50:10 – God owns it all and can do as he pleases. He doesn’t need us, we need Him!
Psalms 50:14 – Be thankful to God when you give.
Psalms 50:15 – Yes Lord! Thank goodness He has made Himself available to hear and respond to our prayers.
Psalms 50:16 – Some people will repeat scriptural sayings but deny God and His sovereignty. Those that don’t believe won’t follow God’s law or spread His word of salvation.
