Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for February 17 (ONPP)
Leviticus 15 – 17, Psalm 41
Leviticus 15:14 – Again God is making the eighth day important.
Leviticus 16:3 – This bull was for Aaron’s sin so that he may be concreated to perform the sacrifice for the people. Jesus has no sin and therefore there was no sacrifice to be made for Himself.
Leviticus 16:10 – this is where we get the term scape–goat because the blame for sin was put on him instead of the culprit of sin.
Leviticus 16:16 – The sons of Israel were to be a nation of priests to the world showing them the goodness of God but just like us their lives did not live up to the office of priest so their sins had to be atoned for over and over to keep their fellowship with God. Since the penalty of sin is death these sacrifices of animals was only a stopgap measure until the time came for Jesus the Son of God to be perfect sacrifice for sin so that whoever will accept His sacrifice will not be found guilty of sin.
Leviticus 16:21 – Both the goat of sacrifice and the scape–goat represent the Messiah, Jesus Christ, because one was a sacrifice of perfection and the other had the sins of the people laid on him.
Leviticus 17:4 – This could easily be done with all the people traveling together. God has also brought up the fact that the shedding of blood must be recognized as a Holy thing and that reverence to God is necessary. The blood, fat and inward parts are to be offered to God as a sacrifice while the meat was returned to the one that offered it to be eaten as a peace offering.
Leviticus 7:11 – God says it the best here.
Leviticus 17:13 – This is called field dressing the animal.
