Chronological Bible Reading for January 18
Genesis 19-21
Genesis 19 – Even though there were not 10 righteous in Sodom God sent angels to take out the ones that were. Lot’s household only. Romans 4:3 – Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness.
Genesis 19:9 – This one came in to stay, and must he judge always? It sounds like Lot has been giving Godly advice to people but has he been following his own advice?
Genesis 19:22 – God does not pour out His wrath on the city until those that trust Him are safe.
Genesis 19:30 – First Lot was afraid to go to the mountains and now he goes because he is afraid to be in Zoar. God got him to the mountains anyway.
Genesis 20:2 – Sarah was 90 years old and this king wanted her for a wife!
Genesis 20:3 – God is there to protect His covenant to Abraham.
Genesis 20:6 – Even without knowledge of stepping into sin we are responsible when we do.
Genesis 21:5 – And Shem, Noah’s son was only 390 years old and will live for another 210 years. This makes this time to be about 290 years after the flood.
Genesis 21:6 – Now Sara laughs publicly as opposed to when the Lord told Abraham that she would conceive she denied her laughing.
Genesis 21:22 – Abimelech may have been one of those in Canaan that God was holding back destruction from in Genesis 15:16.
