Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Chronological Bible Reading for January 10
Job 24-28
Job 24:1 – Job is talking about how man forgets God’s action of creation, His action of revealing the salvation from the penalty of sin to Eve, His action of removing the wicked from the earth while showing grace to Noah who believed what God told him, His humbling of mankind at the Tower of Babel. Job knows that without knowing all that history it is difficult to comprehend some of what God has in store for us now and in the future.
Job 24:16–17 – Like cockroaches they run from the light to not be seen because they know the wrong they do will be avenged in the light, just as the Law is the light to sin.
Job 26:2 – Job is asking Bildad if he has ever shown mercy to anyone that may be on hard times.
Job 26:7 – The Earth does not hang from anything nor is it setting on anything. It is not turtles all the way down, it is God the Creator all the way to the top.
Job 26:13-14 – The creation of the universe, giving life to cover Earth, His hand guiding mankind to fulfill His plan, the beauty shown in Earthly features, fauna, flora, and our pictures of stars and galaxies is just the edge of God’s wisdom and power.
Job 27:3–4 – Even though Job has been deserted by his family, shunned by his servants, berated by his wife and these “friends” he still will not curse God. Job’s faith is in God and His salvation.
Job 27:19 – This again reminds me of the story of the rich man and Lazarus where Lazarus was escorted to Heaven by angels and the rich man “woke up” in Hell. Without trust in God’s provision for our sin we do not have any guidance to Heaven and will “wake up” in our natural destination, Hell.
Job 28:12 – Where is wisdom found?
Job 28:23 – In God there is understanding of wisdom.
Job 28:28 –
Psalms 111:10 – The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; all practicing them have good understanding; His praise stands forever.
Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
