II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for November 16
Acts 1-3
Acts 1:1 – So Mark is saying that he wrote the first Gospel message. I am sure others had told it by word of mouth before but it had not been written down.
Acts 1:3 – Jesus was resurrected and dwelt on Earth for 40 days. That was plenty of time for the leaders to approach Him if they dared.
Acts 1:4 – Jesus met with the disciples a few times. The place they were hiding after the crucifixion twice and in Galilee once. Evidently after the Galilee meeting they went back to Jerusalem. This forty day time span had to complete and Jesus to ascend for the Holy Spirit to come and indwell the disciples.
Acts 1:7 – Before Jesus said that only the Father knows the time but now He says that it is not for the disciples to know the times.
Acts 1:16 – Judas’ unrighteousness was foretold in Psalms 41:9 and his replacement in Psalms 109:8.
Acts 1:21 – Still about 120 believers gathered and one was chosen to replace Judas Iscariot. Sometimes a person just needs to be chosen, to continue on the correct path. It was such a honor to be chosen to that position that it should make one not to dirty it with unrighteous living. This is how we should feel when God calls us to salvation. The honor He bestows upon us to be an adopted child of His and heir within His riches. Many were called together that day but only one was chosen.
Acts 2:2 – When God spoke in John 12:29 the people who stood by thought they herd thunder others thought a angel spoke to Jesus. This instance was the sound of the Holy Spirit coming to anoint the disciples with gifts.
Acts 2:6 – Yes the disciples could speak in other languages but this miracle was of hearing in the language of the home of the listener given to a multitude.
Acts 2:13 – There were some that were not chosen to receive the miracle of hearing and only heard a foreign wind.
Acts 2:17 – The pouring out of the Holy Spirit began with the disciples and the rest of the promises are yet to come. It’s like seeing two mountains in the distance and speaking about both of them but not seeing the great plain between them because the latter is much bigger than the former.
Acts 2:21 – In the Great Tribulation whoever CALLS upon the name of the Lord will be saved! We need to be sure now that many know the one name under Heaven by which we must be saved. The sower may sow the seed on parched earth but if that earth is broken up and watered there will be a place for the seed to take root and grow.
Acts 2:22 – Yes give glory to God for His work among us through His servant Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:24 – Jesus could not be held by death because He was not bound by the chains of sin.
Acts 2:25–28 – Many people in the Old Testament looked forward to the Savior that God would send!
Acts 2:32 – Not one witness or just two but at least all twelve. Twelve witnesses would without a doubt be recognized in their law. Except these twelve because of the hardness of the hearts of the leaders.
Acts 2:33 – Stephen was stoned for saying that he saw Jesus sitting at the right hand of God.
Acts 2:37 – The common people that were drawn to the sermon by the miracle of hearing in their own dialect had their hearts turned toward God’s provision of salvation.
Acts 2:39 – God is not limited by heritage or distance but is able to save all who call upon Him.
Acts 2:41 – Wow!
Acts 2:47 – Daily! They were not hesitant about spreading the Word of God to everyone!
Acts 3:2 – This man had been there throughout Jesus’s ministry, along with many others at the pool at the Sheep Gate.
Acts 3:12 – Peter uses the attention to give a Gospel message. He does not glorify himself for God answering his prayer but glorifies God in sending a Savior.
Acts 3:17 – Yes in ignorance, for Christ asked God to forgive them for they did not know what they were doing.
