II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for November 14
Matthew 28; Mark 16
Matthew 28:2 – Was the stone rolled away to let Jesus out? No, no one came out, Jesus had arisen, the open tomb was to show the people that He had risen.
Matthew 28:4 – The guards had fallen where they stood for fear of the angel.
Matthew 28:5 – The angel did not talk to the guards but gave comfort to the women.
Matthew 28:6 – The angel is encouraging the women to come and be a witness of the empty tomb.
Matthew 28:9 – I feel that the better translation would be that the women drew near to hold Him by His feet. This would be in accordance with John 20:17 when Jesus tells Mary Magdalene not to touch Him.
Matthew 28:19 – Jesus says to go teach.
Mark 16:14 – This is representative of the whole world. Few believe but many, because of their heart is turned away from God and toward power, position, wealth, entertainment, or self, do not.
Mark 16:16 – A more direct translation using Strong’s dictionary is “to have faith and immersed delivered but unbelieving is condemned” giving us a more consistent meaning with John 3:18.
