Psalms 111-118
Psalms 111:2 – We who do have pleasure in the works of the Lord see the rest of the world and pray for their salvation. Pray that their heart may be turned toward the Lord and their path would lead to Heaven instead of destruction.
Psalms 111:10 – Wisdom is the ultimate in the quest of knowledge. Knowing how to apply what you have learned is more effective than misapplying the truth. Satan kept misapplying the Word of God when he was tempting Jesus. God even says that His people are destroyed because of the lack of knowledge. And what shall we fear of God? We should fear His punishment of our sinful choices and nature. It is His Law that we break, and we are responsible to atone for that sinfulness. He though, is so wonderful to provide a substitute that does not fall under the penalty of breaking the Law, so that we may rely on Him to have paid the penalty of our sinfulness.
Psalms 112:3 – Righteousness comes from God and is given to man. It stands forever because God is eternal.
Psalms 113:6 – Earth and people are so small in comparison to the universe, so insignificant, that God takes notice of this part of His creation is amazing to us. If we are that important to God should not other people be important to us also. Should not we be interested in their destination and encourage them to follow God’s plan of redemption.
Psalms 115:1 – Our true thankfulness is not to our possessions, ourselves, Mom, Dad, or others but be thankful to God!
Psalms 115:17–18 – God told Adam that the penalty for disobedience is death. We all have rejected God’s plan for us during our lives and deserve the penalty. Our sinful nature does not allow us to praise Him and will not in eternity. God however knows about this and has provided His path of redemption to life through the sacrifice to death of His Son Jesus to pay the penalty of disobedience. When we accept His offer of life we will be able and willing to bless Him forevermore!
Psalms 116:11 – Romans 3:4 Let it not be! But let God be true, and every man a liar; as it is written, “That You might be justified in Your sayings, and will overcome when You are judged.”
Psalms 118:22 – Jesus was rejected by the Pharisees and Sadducees while David was rejected by Saul and left out in the field by his father when Samuel came.
