Chronological Bible Reading for March 20
Deuteronomy 28-29
Deuteronomy 28:1 – Here is another example of the BIG If. These promises blessings and prominence over the nations will continue if they keep God’s commandments. This includes the sacrifices for sin, harvest, birth, and others as well as the big ten. God wanted Israel to have a heart of compassion and individual love for righteousness.
Deuteronomy 28:15 – The BIG If always has an else. In this case what God planned for Israel’s enemies if Israel obeyed God became the curse that fell upon Israel when they did not obey God.
Deuteronomy 29:5 – What a miracle of preserving their clothing and shoes.
Deuteronomy 29:6 – God had provided manna and water for them and their wanderings did not allow them to plant and harvest.
Deuteronomy 29:18 – This shows first a man’s heart is hardened, one that is supposed to be an example of God’s people, before God allows punishment for him.
Deuteronomy 29:25 – Forsaking God, the reason of all evil.
