II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for June 21
I Kings 10-11; II Chronicles 9
I Kings 10:5 – With all that the Queen of Sheba saw, she lost her pride of herself and blessed God.
I Kings 10:13 – This became a trade relations meeting as well as a diplomatic introduction.
I Kings 11:1 – Though Solomon was full of Earthly wisdom and the wealthiest king of all he did not follow God’s advice to stay away from foreign women that did not trust in Jehovah God (being unequally yoked).
I Kings 11:3 – Just as happened to Israel when they got ready to enter Cannen, foreign women enticed Solomon to worship other gods.
I Kings 11:9 – Because Solomon turned away from God, God allowed trouble to come to Solomon. God has not changed Solomon has. The BIG If is still in effect and Solomon has chosen the Else part.
Remember
I Kings 3:14 And if you will walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.
Also…
I Kings 9:3–7 And Jehovah said to him, I have heard your prayer and your cry which you have made before Me. I have made this house which you have built holy, to put My name there forever. And My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.
4 And if you will walk before Me as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you; and if you will keep My statutes and My judgments,
5 then I will establish the throne of your kingdom on Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying, There shall not be cut off to you a man on the throne of Israel.
6 If you shall at all turn from following Me, you or your sons, and will not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,
7 then I will cut off Israel from the face of the land which I have given them. And this house which I have made holy for My name I will cast out of My sight. And Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people.
Remember
I Kings 8:22–53
Where Solomon asks God for mercy for the failing of the people if they turn back to Him.
God is forgiving to those that turn to Him and do His will. We all have turned away from God in the beginning and must repent and turn back to Him to be accepted.
I Kings 11:38 – God always gives you the choice of the BIG If, and you will make the decision of which path you wish to follow.
I Kings 11:39 – Because of one man’s sin, Adam in the beginning and Solomon in this case, glory and honor were lost, but not forever. This is a promise of the coming descendant of David that David called Lord. I wonder if Jeroboam became jealous of this promise that God was going to keep.
