Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Chronological Bible Reading for December 26
1 John 1-5

I John 1:1 – This is eyewitness testimony.
I John 2:1 – When you are charged with a crime you hire a lawyer (advocate) to represent you. If you do not seek a lawyer and try to represent yourself the old saying applies “A Man Who Is His Own Lawyer Has a Fool for a Client” In the court of God the only one that is qualified to be the advocate is Jesus, who came down from the Father being born as a man having the experience of both God and man. Without Him there is no one qualified to be our advocate with the Father. Take your case to Christ and give it to Him for adjudication He has offered to pay for your defense and the penalty for your crime at no charge to you. But again if you will not accept Him you will have no defense for your crime, because you are guilty!
I John 2:7 – The old commandment – Love God and love one another.
I John 2:8 – The new commandment – we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another.
I John 4:1 – Do your own research! Make sure that the teacher is telling you the truth. Check their sources and references. If something doesn’t seem right then check it in the Bible from where it’s referenced. Remember Paul said that he was teaching Christ and Him crucified.
I John 4:9 – God’s love is forgiving. The many examples of His forgiveness in Genesis, Judges and Kings are just temporal examples of His true love in eternal forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
I John 5:3 – God’s commandments are not burdensome to believers because when you are born of the spirit the Spirit help you to overcome the temptation that the commandments warn us about.
