II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for December 22
Hebrews 7-10
Hebrews 7:1 – Some have theorized that this Melchizedek is Shem, the son of Noah.
Hebrews 8:5 – God has also made a pattern for us to receive the gift of redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus that is referenced in this chapter and His resurrection to being the High Priest that is able to present the sacrifice to God.
Hebrews 8:9 – This is what happens when we do not do that which we are commanded to do. God’s BIG IF contained the ELSE clause that would come about when His conditions were not satisfied.
Hebrews 9:22 – The blood is the important symbol of redemption, the animals sacrificed to cover Adam and Eve when they were cast out of Eden, the sacrifice received by God from Able and not Cain, the ram God provided in place of Isaac, the blood on the doorposts and lintel in Egypt, the act of circumcision to identify God’s people from others, the sacrifices for sin and praise in the tabernacle and temple, all these were just pointing to Jesus as the perfect sacrifice once offered for the sins of many.
Hebrews 10:1 – It’s like renting, you never finish paying because the payment made is never enough. But when you buy with the full amount there is no more payment needed.
Hebrews 10:19 – The sacrifice of Christ, the perfect Lamb of God without sin, opens up the veil to all who wish to worship God in spirit and truth. His resurrection from His death is the evidence of God’s consecration of that sacrifice and Christ’s position as High Priest.
Hebrews 10:29 – If we don’t love God this verse should be enough of a warning to us that we would want to honor Him and His plan for redemption and through our honor He will continue to give us love for Him.
