Acts 24-26
Acts 24:10 – Paul was quietly worshiping in the temple yet it was the foreign Jews themselves started the disturbance by bearing false witness.
Acts 24:25 – Many people reject Christ in this manner. Later I will call for you. But their hearts are numbed by the place they put their treasure. Not in God but in carnal success.
Acts 24:26 – Felix is showing what his heart was fixed on, silver. For two years he kept Paul and denied him freedom. Yet Paul was not kept from seeing those that came to see him.
Acts 25:3 – Were the men that made the vow to not eat or drink still alive after two years?
Acts 25:10 – As a citizen of Rome Paul was entitled to have Caesar make the judgement of the matter. Neither Felix or Festus had the courage to judge fairly because they were too ready to please the Jews instead of using the sword of Rome to keep the peace.
Acts 25:27 – A statement with a very deep meaning. A prisoner without charges should not be a prisoner.
Acts 26:1 – God gives Paul the opportunity to give the gospel message to rulers, kings, soldiers, and people. All being in the same need of a savior but many not recognizing it, and others putting it off until the message is lost to them.
Acts 26:14 – Some people need to be metaphorically shoved to the ground in their life to stop and hear God’s message. When Paul realized God’s forgiveness he also realized his own great debt in sin.
