Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for April 1 (ONPP)
Luke 9, Psalms 78
Luke 9:25 – Interlocks with the seed that fell among thorns that choked it out. We need to live our lives so that the world’s cares and wealth do not choke our faith in Christ’s propitiation when we are among others.
Luke 9:44 – Jesus reveals that He must die to pay the debt my sin incurred.
Luke 9:56 – Jesus did not come to destroy but to save! Those that would not receive Jesus hated the fact that His presence reminded their spirit that they were doomed without Him and their pride refused to let them accept Him.
Luke 9:59 – When you have the opportunity to follow Christ, DO IT! Now is the time, today is the day!
Luke 9:62 – This makes me pause to reflect. Am I keeping something that hinders me from being obedient to God?
Psalms 78 – The description of what God shows us here is that of the past in Exodus and Judges and the future in the Kings and Chronicles. The human heart turns away from God and to self interest no matter how much evidence they have in the past of the path God has for them.
Psalms 78:5 – it is apparent that Israel has failed to pass down God’s commandment to their children many times in the hundreds of years since they came out of Egypt. God does not change His mind to make Israel His vessel to bring salvation to the world. He continues to raise up a leader to continue the plan that He has made.
Psalms 78:25 – This is miracle food created for the nation of Israel to give glory to God not from the world to provide a “natural” explanation.
Psalms 78:27 – God did expect this because He had prepared an abundance of quail to be ready for this very time. David remembered the history that he had been taught and kept his eyes on God for provision.
Psalms 78:36 – Oh how sad, those that outwardly praise God but inwardly turn away from His provision. They go to church and lead moral lives, are looked upon by the world as successful, but daily leave Christ out of their lives waking to better themselves in the eyes of the world.
Psalms 78:38 – But God forgives and allows those that ignore Him or are against Him to prosper just to fulfill His plan. He forgives and accepts those that turn to Him for their salvation.
Psalms 78:39 – Any idea of reincarnation is therefore without any foundation.
Psalms 78:42 – When we don’t learn from history we miss the trail that has already been opened up and we wander around without a path crossing our previous steps and not knowing when we are headed for danger.
Psalms 78:52 – David opens my eyes to God’s loving care to the wandering Israelites.
Psalms 78:56 – God makes something beautiful for us and we mess it up, God makes something beautiful for us and we mess it up.
Psalms 78:65 – God was not asleep but came out suddenly and raised up one to judge Israel and bring them back in line.
