Jeremiah 32 – 34, Psalms 83
Jeremiah 33:15 – No matter how many times Israel is invaded, beaten, carried off God is still going to fulfill His promise. God has just said that His plan of redemption will come to pass when the economy is booming. Yet when Jesus came and ministered the people even in prosperity were unhappy with the Romans as their law enforcement officers. They were more concerned with the wealth that they now had vs their relationship with Jehovah.
Jeremiah 33:16 – In the time of Jesus Jerusalem was in safety and the Romans were providing that safety but the pride of the people against paying taxes and having a ruler over them that was not a descendent of David was keeping them from seeing their place in that perfect time that God had appointed.
Jeremiah 33:17–18 – Mary’s heritage came from David through his son Nathan and Elizabeth her cousin was the wife of a priest assuming that Mary’s mother was also of the priestly line. But Jesus received His heritage directly through God the Father. God has always given the condition of David’s kingly line to follow in His Laws.
Jeremiah 33:20 – The strength of God’s Word to not change is embodied in the example of the cycle of day and night. This cycle cannot be changed by man and will only be finished when God brings in the New Jerusalem after the heavens and earth pass away and there will be no night. But the condition of this statement is directed at man breaking the day and night cycle.
Jeremiah 34:18 – This is the same type of covenant that Jehovah made to Abraham in Genesis 15:9.
Psalms 83:2 – God’s enemies will always try to destroy His work.
Psalms 83:4 – God has been faithful to Israel and will continue to be.
Psalms 83:5 – God’s enemies come together with one purpose because they are led by their own hearts and made Satan their god.
Psalms 83:10 – These enemies have but one end, to be buried in the earth.
Psalms 83:16 – Yet our prayer is that God’s enemies would turn from their wicked ways and trust Him.
Psalm 83:18 – Amen and Amen.
