Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for September 22 (ONPP)
Jeremiah 16 – 18, Psalms 78
Jeremiah 17:1 – Not only did they use iron tools for carving but also diamonds.
Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is the seat of our emotions and our emotions do not give us truth. That is why we do not rely on emotions to lead us to God’s will, but we rely on His Word that we should study to give us knowledge, and in understanding gives us wisdom. Faith is understanding knowledge.
Jeremiah 17:23 – The failure to honor God results in the failure to find rest. They then chase the god of riches and “success” ignoring the guidance of Jehovah.
Jeremiah 17:24–26 – Just keeping the Sabbath provides the nation with safety and security and a revival spreading all over.
Jeremiah 18:1–4 – We are not made by ourselves, God will work and mold us in the way that He wants, and in the way our material can be handled at the time. The BIG IF is that if we continue to be unyielding we will be thrown out for a better lump. The Potter made another vessel from the first ruined one, not necessarily another type but maybe another of the same type. Not only does the clay represent an individual but also, a nation.
Jeremiah 18:8 – There.. is that BIG IF that God has promised to honor. Become pliable in Jehovah’s hands and let Him mold you in the way that you can serve Him to His liking. It should not be what I want but what He wants of me.
Jeremiah 18:10–12 – There is the other side of the BIG IF, the result of dishonoring God. God has not changed His mind. We have turned away from His guidance and will not be molded to serve His purpose.
Jeremiah 18:16 – What a shame. They had the land handed over to them, plentiful harvests, protection from their enemies, and the best place from which to glorify God, yet they traded it all in to worship useless idols made of wood, bronze, silver, entertainment, and status.
Jeremiah 18:18 – Ezekiel 7:26 shows the people in captivity are saying the opposite of this statement.
