Bible Reading for September 19 (ONPP)
Jeremiah 10 – 12, Proverbs 7
Jeremiah 10:2 – Asteroids come close to earth, the Sun throws out large flares and CME’s, Beetlejuice is nearing its massive explosion of death, yet fear not, God is in charge.
Jeremiah 10:3–5 – Many people now go out and make gods for themselves out of pleasure and pride. They may not cut trees but they have trophies and trinkets of their accomplishments that they always go back to and venerate. Where God is the giver of all things, life, breath, sustenance and salvation. It is the pride of these that worship other gods that keep them from getting past the temporal and not proceeding to the eternal.
Jeremiah 10:21 – I have personally met pastors that do not know the word and will spout sayings in their pride of self without studying to see if it conforms with God’s revelation in the Bible. They do not rightly divide the Word. They should study to find themselves approved.
Jeremiah 10:23 – Man cannot walk in righteousness himself, he does not search for a path toward God but wanders from belief to belief without a standard of truth to guide him.
Jeremiah 11:10–11 – When we turn away from God to rely on our own self, we lose His protection and His fellowship.(“our own self” wow is that us trying to be our own trinity?)
Jeremiah 11:12 – These things that people venerate in their lives have no power to protect them. No rabbit’s foot (unlucky for the rabbit), crystal (a rock) or other item has no power to help them.
Jeremiah 11:19 – In The Parable of the Tenants the vinedressers were going to kill the son of the owner so that they could inherit the land.
Jeremiah 11:21 – So many people don’t want to hear the Word of God. They chastise those that have the courage to speak in God’s favor and want to remove them from society.
Jeremiah 12:2 – There are those that speak about God but do not have the actions in their life that show that those words effect their dealings with others.
Jeremiah 12:14 – God warns the other nations not to covet the land that He has reserved for His people because He will make a total destruction of them for their covetousness.
Jeremiah 12:16 – The BIG IF applies to all people. Those that believe God will prosper while those that don’t will be destroyed.
Proverbs 7:5 – This strange woman is the feeling of self–importance, pride and all the trappings that pull us away from the truth. When we put up a front of doing well without the truth of God we fail and fall toward hell and death.
Proverbs 7:14–20 – This woman went to the synagogue and paid her tithe came home to snare a man in the street while her husband is away on business.
Proverbs 7:21–23 – He wastes no time accepting her offer being led by her urging and is rewarded by treachery.
