Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for May 4 (ONPP)
II Samuel 21 – 24, Psalms 106

II Samuel 22:16 – David is using the record of the flood to describe His deliverance from Saul’s wrath against him.
II Samuel 22:25 – God is not rewarding according to actual righteousness but according to the faith of Abraham that God recognizes through the blood of His righteous Son that was shed for our iniquity.
II Samuel 22:26 – The differences in our relationship to God causes us to see God differently. While those that honor Him see Him as faithful, righteous, and pure but those that are perverse and corrupt see Him as fickle and overbearing.
II Samuel 22:32 – God is our base of support; build our lives on Him not on ourselves.
II Samuel 23:6 – If you go into the briar patch without protection or a blade to make a path you are going to be scratched, marred, and could possibly get infections.
II Samuel 23:8 – Again God reminds us that every person is important to Him. We may not be the person with the greatest exposure to the world but God recognizes our faithful contributions.
II Samuel 24:1 – So because Israel had not turned away from their selfishness God is using David to give them a lesson. Will they blame David or will they recognize God’s sovereignty and turn to worship Him.
II Samuel 24:9 – This may not account for all the men that are 20 years old and upward because there were over 600,000 men when they came into the Promised Land. Judah however only had 76,000 men when they came into the Promised Land. Did the growth rate of Judah far surpass that of the rest of Israel or were the most of the rest of Israel not fit for battle? That brings us to now. Am I considered a strong man worthy to be counted for battle when the time arises to defend the Word of God? And by “I”, I mean “you” also.
II Samuel 24:16 – This is the land where Solomon built the Temple. God is showing us where His plan for Israel’s worship center is to be built. Even though our worship center to God should be in our heart we cannot have fellowship with others without a place to gather..
II Samuel 24:24 – What kind of offering is one that does not cost us something. Israel was commanded to bring a sacrifice without blemish. An animal like that would bring a good price and to forego that is definitely a sacrifice that costs. The love of our heart toward God is reflected in the amount of our life that we honor Him. Do we throw in a part of our life to honor God or our whole worth like the widow in Mark 12:42?
Psalms 106 – God is faithful and just, to complete His promise even when we turn away from Him.
Psalms 106:46 – Wow! These people continually turn away from and reject God and His precepts only to honor their own lusts but God is ever forgiving, and giving in blessings when they cry for help.
