II Kings 16 – 18, Psalms 122
II Kings 17:28 – God calls a missionary to the Gentiles.
II Kings 17:33 – The fear of the Lord may be the beginning of knowledge but these did not continue to learn. They worshiped their own idols.
II Kings 18:3 – Hezekiah was different from most of the kings of Judah. His trust in God was great and he kept God’s Law.
II Kings 18:12 – If God had not put Hezekiah on the throne when He did Judah probably would have been taken away also. God was merciful to Judah and they were not taken away from the land because of their sinfulness until another one hundred thirty–nine years passed.
II Kings 18:19 – Because Hezekiah did not rely on God but sent tribute to the enemy they came back to get more. This was not a good witness to the nations that God is Lord of lords and King of kings.
II Kings 18:32 – Ah here is the catch to the freedom that the Assyrians give to you. Until I take you away from your home and “make you my slaves”.
II Kings 18:35 – The chief of the cupbearers has made a mistake of saying that Assyria is greater than Jehovah, the true God, Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Psalms 122:1 – It is the will of God that we gather together in worship. We need to have fellowship, praises of victories and, prayers of concerns to keep us from feeling depressed like Elijah was when Jezebel was after him while not realizing that God had reserved seven thousand men that were true to Jehovah.
