Bible Reading for June 29 (ONPP)
Nehemiah 1 – 4, Psalms 4
Nehemiah 1:1 – This was thirteen years after Ezra left for Jerusalem and the fortification of Jerusalem was yet incomplete.
Nehemiah 1:9 There it is, the BIG IF. God is so faithful to His word. He does not accept those that don’t want to worship Him and He redeems those that repent of their sin and turn to Him.
Nehemiah 2:2 – God has caused Artaxerxes to notice Nehemiah’s sadness and given him an opening to speak to the king about the plight of Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 2:8 – This is the command that is given to restore Jerusalem and restore its walls and gates.
Nehemiah 2:20 – As these have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem those that do not worship The God of Heaven will have no part nor place in Heaven.
Nehemiah 3:1 – These men are remembered to honor their participation in rebuilding God’s chosen city.
Nehemiah 4:1 – As Sanballat scorned the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall that keeps him from making the city his, so Satan scorns the Church (called out ones) that are filled with the Holy Spirit keeping him at bay from overrunning mankind.
Nehemiah 4:3 – This wall is going up with God’s help as the Church’s foundation is built through preaching which is foolishness to unbelievers but it is God’s way that the foundation is “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Nehemiah 4:13 – When attack is imminent then watchmen are to be vigilant and troops are to be ready. That is why we need to know how to use this sword that we are reading. Build with one hand and protect with the other.
