Bible Reading for June 26 (ONPP)
Ezra 4 – 7, Psalms 2
Ezra 4:1 – Satan comes in and tests the new dedication of Israel and puts barriers in the way of construction of the temple.
Ezra 4:5 – Oh they continuously had people to lobby or cause trouble to keep Israel from building the temple. So it is apparent that they were lying when they asked to help build the temple.
Ezra 4:6 – We are getting close to the book of Esther now.
Ezra 4:7 – This is the time of Nehemiah as Artaxerxes’s wine bearer.
Ezra 4:12 – These liars are saying that Ezra’s group is building a fortified city instead of the temple of worship.
Ezra 4:24 – So by the command to cease from building the wall of the city they kept them from building the temple also? That is a miscarriage of justice!
Ezra 5:3 – Satan riles up the neighborhood again to try to stop the rebuilding of God’s temple.
Ezra 6:12 – God had set up the trump card in the deck to be played here. Now the men that tried to stop the building of the temple had to provide support for the building of it and the offerings that were to be made to God.
Ezra 6:15 – The temple was finished and a date that is traceable even today was given to support this.
Ezra 6:21 – The people were not just “going to church” they read the lesson of the Passover and have prepared themselves for the worship. They shed the uncleanness of the world and displayed the Grace and Mercy that God showed them.
Ezra 7:5 – The record of genealogy was kept during the Judges, Kings and captivity so that the descendants of each tribe could fulfill their duties.
Ezra 7:12–28– Even more support for the worship of God is commanded of those that tried to stop the building of the temple, and not just support but now the Jews are in charge of being judges over them.
Psalms 2:3 – The bands of the Lord or His anointed are not bands of confinement but bands of family.
Psalms 2:7 – The prophecy of the Son of God.
