Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for June 25 (ONPP)
Ezra 1 – 3, Psalms 1
Ezra 1:2 – In Jeremiah’s prophecy this is the command to rebuild the Temple not Jerusalem. And in Isaiah 44:28 “who says of Cyrus, He is My shepherd, and shall do all My pleasure; even saying to Jerusalem, You shall be built; and to the temple, Your foundation shall be laid.”
Ezra 1:4 – Now to keep so many from returning to Israel Cyrus provides a wealth redistribution incentive.
Ezra 2:1 – God knows each and every one and numbers them and knows their heritage and cares for them.
Ezra 2:59 – Even those not proven of Israel are important to God just as we all are.
Ezra 3:11 – They followed the plan that was set before them by those that originally built the temple and they did not create a new plan. The plan of God has not changed.
Ezra 3:12 – Worship with joy. Were these ancient men weeping because the foundation was so small or in joy to see the rebuilding begin?
Psalms – Why are we reading Psalms again? We can not praise God enough.
