Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Bible Reading for February 2 (ONPP)
Exodus 23 – 25, Psalms 28
Exodus 23:2 – You are not exempt from following mob mentality. Just because everyone is doing it does not mean it’s the right thing to do. Do your own research to see what is right and honorable to God for He says in Hosea that His people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.
Exodus 23:3 – Because a person is poor does not mean he has been oppressed. Again do the research to find the reason.
Exodus 23:5 – Do good to them that persecute you.
Exodus 23:7 – What is more innocent than a child in the womb.
Exodus 23:10 – As a week has six days of work and one of rest so should the land and your crops. This is an evidence of your trust in God.
Exodus 23:15 – Feast of Unleavened Bread – essentially Passover or Easter;
Feast of Harvest – Today we celebrate Christmas as Christ was that first fruit of God the first resurrection to life eternal:
Feast of Ingathering – This would relate to our Thanksgiving where the Pilgrims gave thanks to God for providing them with the year’s harvest.
Exodus 23:19 – God has a sense of humor! The Jews have made this a reason to not eat meat and milk together. In Genesis 18:8, Abraham gave the LORD milk butter and meat in the same meal without any sign of division! However, if you look at the meaning of the Hebrew words then it could show that the first born kid of the herd must be weaned before it is brought to sacrifice, bringing significance to the words just before. This means that you have to invest the time to raise and care for the kid and forego the milk that the mother would make for the kid.
Exodus 23:22 – This BIG If comes with blessings of protection.
Exodus 23:33 – The BIG IF also comes with warnings!
Exodus 24:3 – I believe this is the second time that the people were agreeing to follow God’s Word.
Exodus 24:4 – So now we have authentication that Moses did personally record the events that took place and followed through with God’s direction.
Exodus 24:7 – After writing it all down Moses read it to the people and they agreed to do what God has said for the third time.
Exodus 24:10–11 – They saw God and then before forty days has elapsed they forsake God and started to worship a golden calf.
Exodus 25:2 – This is not a command to the people but a request.
Exodus 25:9 – God gives Moses the plans for the Tabernacle and its furniture.
Below are some websites that give explanations of the tabernacle and its furniture.
