II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Bible Reading for December 14 (ONPP)
Malachi 1 – 4, Psalms 148
Malachi – This little book has a lot of meat in it.
Malachi 1:2 – It is for God’s purpose that He loves His children that will follow Him. Rom 9:13 As it is written, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
Malachi 1:3 – For those that refuse God’s propitiation for sin He also refuses them a place in Heaven. God as the good shepherd searches after His lost sheep not the wild rams of the world.
Malachi 1:4 – The rebellious pride of man toward God will not profit him.
Malachi 1:5 – Jehovah is not just the God of Israel. He is the Creator Sustainer God of the Universe
Malachi 1:6 – Even now, sadly there are men that claim to be ministers of Christ that do not honor God or believe His Word.
Malachi 1:7 – When we do not give our best to God it is a defilement of our worship to Him. I sadly do find myself failing in that also.
Malachi 1:9 – Pray for your individual relationship with God. When we turn to Him, He will honor His promise to watch over us and guide us.
Malachi 1:10 – When the priests were doing their service they did only what they were required to do and would not bother to do some of the mediocre things such as shutting the doors or kindling the fire.
Malachi 1:11 – The truth of God and the trust in His Word is spread worldwide and will be honored during the Millennial Reign of Christ.
Malachi 1:14 – The sacrifice was to represent something very valuable to offset the high cost of individual sin. It was to be one that not only was costly but cared for, even loved.
Malachi 2:9 – These priests are agreeing with the rich and powerful and not God. Therefore the common people look at them with distain as they misrepresent what God intended for His people.
Malachi 2:14 – The priests were not being faithful to their wives because they were not faithful to God. One being faithful to God is also faithful to their spouse.
Malachi 2:17 – Many times God demands just actions of man and His actions are just. When we declare injustice good it is an affront to God and His creation.
Malachi 3:1 – The messenger, John the Baptizer, came to prepare the people for repentance and Christ’s sacrifice. As we now are to prepare the people for the upcoming trouble and Christ’s second coming.
Malachi 3:6 – I have even heard of those that propose to preach from the Bible that God does change. This is God’s own words that He does NOT change and gives the example of Israel and their rejection of Him yet He has been faithful to them to fulfill His promises to them even bringing them back as a nation in this age. If God did change then it would be confusing on which way to follow. Man however does change based on his desires at the time.
Malachi 3:16 – Go to your neighbor and tell them of the wonders that God has done. Especially the offering of salvation, the BIG IF.
Malachi 4:5 – God sent one like Elijah (John the Baptist) before the great day of Jesus’s ministry and it is thought that a returned Elijah will be one of the two witnesses in Jerusalem mentioned in Revelation.
Malachi 4:6 – There is hope for the people of the world in that this Elijah will be an effective witness to God’s love for mankind by bringing families together.
Psalms 148:5 – Affirming creation not evolution.
Psalms 148:6 – God does not change.
Psalms 148:13 – His name is Wonderful, Councilor, Almighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
