Bible Reading for December 13 (ONPP)
Revelation 20 – 22, Psalms 147
Revelation 20:11-15 – The Great White Throne – In these verses nothing is said about those whose names are written in The Book of Life because the first resurrection had already occurred before chapter 20 verse 5. Those that are dead in hell and being tormented seem to be the ones that appear here for final judgement. Their names are searched for in the Book of Life and the books of their works was opened to show their failure. Were there any found in the Book of Life?
When did the first resurrection occur? Was it before chapter 4 where the 24 elders were mentioned? It must have been before chapter 7 verse 9 when the great multitude from all nation stood praising God. There was the mention of the souls’ of those slain for the Word of God in Chapter 6 verse 9 but they were told to wait. These references does make me see a carrying away (rapture) before the things to come.
Psalms 147:11 – How comforting to know that it is not our physical or financial ability that gives God pleasure but our hope in His mercy.
