II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Bible Reading for December 1 (ONPP)
Micah 1 – 4, Psalms 137
Micah 1:6 – God did not bring the fullness of His punishment when these ten tribes of Israel began to sin. He waited till the fullness of their sin was not redeemable in that generation. God waited over 240 years for this to occur.
Micah 2:5 – God has given previous examples of His anger against an evil family. The house of Jeroboam and Ahab’s family were both cut off with no male descendants surviving to carry on the family name.
Micah 3:4 – This cry is not for repentance but for relief. God gave the Israelites relief from Egypt because of His promise to Abraham. These people have no promise except if they turn away from the worship of false gods and to Jehovah then He will hear.
Micah 3:9–11 – Micah gives a good description of many in today’s world also.
Psalms 137 – Definitely not written by David but by those were in the captivity of Babylon.
Psalms 137:7 – This is one dark emotional psalm that reveals how much the people miss their home and how much they resent their captors. This is what God wants to grow in their heart. The recognition that God is in charge and He will restore Jerusalem and the whole nation Israel.
