Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Chronological Bible Reading for January 3
Genesis 8-11
Genesis 8:21 – Our imaginations, inward thoughts are evil from our youth. How do we hope to do well and not be thrown into the suffering of Hell? God gave Noah grace. Noah did not deserve God’s favor but God gave it as He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sin. I Corinthians 15:22 – For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive.
Genesis 8:22 – Man is not in charge of the climate of the Earth, God is.
Genesis 9:2 – This is why we can’t just go out and pet a cute little bunny rabbit or a dear and take them back home and have them for supper. (double entendre intended)
Genesis 9:3 – As in Genesis 1:29–30 God has given every animal and plant as food.
Genesis 10:21 – Shem the father of the sons of Eber (Heber – where the name Hebrews came from). Eber was the great–grandson of Shem and the longest lived of those born after the flood. It states that Japheth was older than Shem but in the description of their birth Shem is referenced first and that is probably a reference to the age given to Noah at Shem’s birth.
Genesis 11:2 – The term, go west young man is not be a new world term.
Genesis 11:4 – The sin of pride. Like Eve they were trying to honor themselves and not God.
Genesis 11:11 – Shem lived until Jacob (Israel) was 50 years old and Eber (Heber), Shem’s great–grandson died 19 years after that. There were eight generations between Shem and Abram totaling 290 years in the KJV. But in the Brenton and Apostolic Bible Polyglot there were 9 generations totaling 1,170 years. Eight hundred and eighty more years for the world to be filled with people.
