II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for November 27
1 Thessalonians 1-5; 2 Thessalonians 1-3

I Thessalonians 1:7 – When Paul and Silas were at Thessalonica the unbelieving Jews quickly began to persecute the believers and searched for Paul and Silas but the brothers in Thessalonica took them away to Berea. The believers withstood the persecution as Christ did and are a witness to God’s grace. And what a witness it was that spread throughout the region so that Paul did not have to convince any of the truth of the gospel.
I Thessalonians 2:12 – Our actions do show what we believe as what is in our heart is revealed by our speech.
I Thessalonians 2:16 – The pride of the Jews, wanting to be the only people that God loves. They based that premise on heritage, not faith as Abraham did.
I Thessalonians 3:6 – God showed Paul, through the witness of the Thessalonians, that His Word does not go out in vain. Though it is not accepted by all, even a third of the angels denied it, those that found it pleasing hung on to it fiercely.
I Thessalonians 3:11 – Paul yearned to visit Thessalonica again but he gave God the leadership role in his ministry and did not make any vow that might divert him from the path that God had put him on.
I Thessalonians 4:14 – Jesus said, “John 14:2c–3 I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, so that where I am, you may be also.”
I Thessalonians 4:16 – This resurrection is for the dead in Christ only. Others will be raised later.
I Thessalonians 4:17 – How else would one describe such an event except rapture.
I Thessalonians 5:1 – This chapter would be a good one to read a verse of every day for a year to keep us grounded in our faith and expectant in God’s fulfilment of His plan.
I Thessalonians 5:12–22 16 commands
1. respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work.
2. Be at peace among yourselves.
3. admonish the idle
4. encourage the fainthearted
5. help the weak
6. be patient with them all
7. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil
8. always seek to do good to one another and to everyone
9. Rejoice always
10. pray without ceasing
11. give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you
12. Do not quench the Spirit
13. Do not despise prophecies
14. test everything
15. hold fast what is good
16. Abstain from every form of evil
I Thessalonians 5:14 – We do not give enough attention to this. We seem to be too prideful in our self to undergo a possible loss of relationship with those that are unruly. Also our pride has us feeling unprepared but supporting the weak is what we may have to do for ourselves because of that. Patience … I’mmmm not sure I would want to learn that the hard way by waiting for patience but that I should rely on God to bring it about.
I Thessalonians 5:15 – Not an eye for an eye but (Matt 5:38–39) – Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
I Thessalonians 5:17 – Keeping your heart turned toward God so that the Spirit can bless you with the truth of the scripture.
I Thessalonians 5:19 – Keeping your heart open to God so that you may not miss the opportunity to give a testimony of Him.
I Thessalonians 5:21 – Be able to give a scriptural basis of your Hope and Test others claims by the scripture.
I Thessalonians 5:23 – This is an awesome command. Staying away from meat offered to idols, don’t be alone with a member of the opposite sex that is not your family (wife, mother, daughter,…), stay out of bars and brothels, always have open finances at church. …
I Thessalonians 5:23 – Paul’s prayer of them.
I Thessalonians 5:25 – Paul is asking the Thessalonians for comfort and edification in prayer.
II Thessalonians 1:1 – Paul was not embarrassed about writing the same thing to different churches. God has His Word written the same to each of us. God does not change and neither does His Word.
II Thessalonians 1:6 – This applies very well with Psalms 40 where David is being persecuted and asks for deliverance.
II Thessalonians 1:8–9 – Paul is surly giving the revelation of God’s judgement without sugar coating it.
II Thessalonians 1:12 – Definitely the goal of a believer in Christ.
II Thessalonians 2:1–12 – Paul is giving us a view of the Great Tribulation and the Anti–Christ.
II Thessalonians 2:3 – This falling away refers to the people of the Earth that no longer care about the importance of worshiping God.
II Thessalonians 2:4 – Even in the Garden of Eden Satan deceived Eve that she would be as God knowing good and evil. Ever since, mankind has been trying to reach God or making themselves a god to themselves but God has always been there to receive them if they would accept His provision of redemption just as He gave Adam and Eve animal skins to cover themselves (a sacrifice of blood representing what was to come).
II Thessalonians 2:6 – It is the Holy Spirit in indwelling those that have put their trust in the salvation offered by God through the redeeming sacrifice of His Son on the cross that holds back Satan’s false god.
II Thessalonians 2:11 – The lie of the Anti–Christ will be believed by many so that their unrighteousness will not contaminate Heaven.
II Thessalonians 3:6 – A precursor to church discipline.
II Thessalonians 3:15 – A person of the congregation that has missed the mark needs loving discipline as verbal correction and solitude until their repentance.
II Thessalonians 3:17 – Though Paul may not have physically pinned the entire letter, he pinned the introduction himself as evidence that the letter was from him.
