II Timothy 2:15 Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Chronological Bible Reading for November 15
Luke 24; John 20-21
Luke 24:19 – Jesus wanted to hear their testimony of the events so they would remember them when they were witnessing to others.
Luke 24:22 – In verse 11 they did not believe the women and thought it foolishness.
Luke 24:25 – Now Jesus gives them the history of God’s promise to show the foundation of their witness.
Luke 24:27 – Wow! To walk with Jesus and be explained all the Scriptures concerning Him! Well we can. Begin reading the Scriptures and taking notes. The Bible is its own best interpreter.
Luke 24:32 – Jesus did not reveal Himself to them until after He explained the Scripture, Jesus used the principle that the power lies in the explanation of biblical truth, the preaching of the Word, not in the person doing the explaining. It is not us who convert the lost… it is the power of God through His Word.
Luke 24:34 – They believed Peter but not the women.
Luke 24:36 – First the witnesses and then the appearing!
Luke 24:45 – How can you understand what you have not heard or read? Believe, open the Bible, read, and understand! Is this in the same way He explained the Law and prophets to the two going to Emmaus.
Luke 24:53 – They did not have to worry about the Roman soldiers or rulers. Their names were written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!
John 20:9 – Jesus had told them that He must be crucified and rise on the third day. Matthew 20:19, Mark 8:31, mark 9:31, Mark 10:34, Luke 18:33, Luke 24:7, and Luke 24:46.
John 20:29 – The blessing that Jesus is talking about is available for you! Believe the witnesses that wrote about these events, believe the scholars that diligently searched the truth about these events, and believe God that gave others the prophecies of these events. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. Believe in the name of the only begotten son of God and be redeemed from unbelief.
John 21:3 – Jesus had told Mary to tell the disciples to go to Galilee and wait on Him there. It looks like Peter got tired of waiting and went back to work at his old profession at least this once. And six others followed his leadership.
John 21:11 – This little rock became a Sampson pulling in the net of fish weighing about 535 pounds that the seven of them could not.
John 21:15 – Simon do you love me more than fishing, or more than these friends? Jesus is asking Simon about agapaho love, love without measure, but Simon answers with fileho love, love as a brother or friend.
John 21:16 – Again Jesus is asking Simon about agapaho love, but Simon answers again with fileho love.
John 21:17 – This time Jesus comes down to Simon’s level with fileho and asks if Simon is His close friend. Simon again responds with I am your devoted friend, fileho.
