Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Chronological Bible Reading for May 27
I Chronicles 26-29; Psalms 127
I Chronicles 26:1 – God feels that even the gatekeepers (greeters?) are individually important to Him and wants all of us to know their names.
I Chronicles 26:20 – And those in the background that we may not see, are important to God and His plan.
I Chronicles 26:24 – Moses’s grandson was still alive when David was old! His father Gershom was the first born of Moses. Gershom must have lived to an advanced age and fathered Shebuel late in life. Shebuel must have been quite old also because it had been 436 years since Moses died.
The possibility exists that Shebuel was the oldest direct descendent of Moses’s son Gershom since the translators have used the original word to mean “son” and “sons” possibly as an honorarium just as Jesus is called “Son of David”.
I Chronicles 27:1 – Yes, the defenders of the nation are individually recognized as important by God here.
I Chronicles 28:5 – Again there is no reason for anyone to try to assume the kingship because David again says that Solomon will be his successor. Satan does try to prevent God’s temple from being built by having two others attempting to overthrow David’s (God’s) kingdom.
I Chronicles 28:7 – God is faithful to bless those that He has called if they follow Him.
I Chronicles 28:9 – Again the BIG IF.
I Chronicles 28: 11 – Solomon had time to study the design parameters and the purpose of each piece long before he began to build.
I Chronicles 29:2 – What better inheritance for Solomon is there than the building and understanding of God’s temple.
I Chronicles 29:29 – God thought it was important that several write about David and his reign so that others would get differing viewpoints of his life.
