Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Chronological Bible Reading for March 16
Deuteronomy 14-16
Deuteronomy 14:1 – Those that have died made their choice to serve God or themselves. If they have served God we rejoice because they are with Him now. If they did not serve God we are not to grieve their destiny it was their choice. I find that I grieve their absence. If you are sad about their choice of not serving God then do not grieve, go and give the Gospel to those that are still living that they may serve God and rejoice in being with Him. I know I look forward to renewing a greater relationship with those who have served God.
Deuteronomy 14:5 – The hart is a male deer or stag.
Deuteronomy 14:11 – As for birds I see that He has taken those that eat other animals off the Israelites menu.
Deuteronomy 14:23 – The tithe of food is for enjoying fellowship with God and others in His holy place.
Deuteronomy 14:24–26 – God provides for every problem that we may come upon.
Deuteronomy 15:3 – God has granted them a land of plenty so those that succeed greatly can loan to their neighbor food, clothing, silver or some other thing then they should release those in debt to them for the loan in the Sabbath year. This shows the love the wealthy person would have for their unfortunate brother, knowing possibly they would not be paid back. But if there are no poor, everyone being well off, then the borrower is obligated to pay the lender back. But if the borrower is a foreigner to Israel then they can force them to pay it back even unto slavery. Now though if someone borrows from us we are to not expect it back but if they are honest they will pay it back.
Deuteronomy 15:7 – The poor is poor in many ways. God says not to let your heart be hard toward your brother
Deuteronomy 15:12 – This loan release also applies to another Israelite sold to them as a slave, they shall be freed and given a “golden parachute” for their labors. This slave has helped increase your wealth and God wants you to reward him.
Deuteronomy 15:19 – Again God reiterates the Holiness of the first born of the flock or herd to remind them of the firstborn of Egypt that died to convince Egypt to free Israel.
Deuteronomy 15:22 – Even though someone is unclean they are allowed to eat of this sacrifice and not be shut out.
