Chronological Bible Reading for June 15
Psalms 134, 146-150
Psalms 146:3 – In the case of the Old Testament the term “son of man” is related to the lowly status of humanity against the permanence and exalted dignity of God. In the New Testament the Greek term is not found to be used before the writing of the Gospels and relates to the humanity of Jesus as the term “Son of God” relates to His deity.
Psalms 146:8 – Luke_7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
Psalms 147:11 – How comforting to know that it is not our physical or financial ability that gives God pleasure but our hope in His mercy.
Psalms 147:19 – The Law that God gave at Mt. Sinai is ment to apply to Israel to show them that they cannot attain salvation by their own works or many sacrifices. God did not show this to the nations but did provide a path of faith in His work that they may be redeemed unto Him. Because of the history of Israel we are called to set ourselves apart from sin as God has set us apart from the unsaved. ex:Romans 6:14
Psalms 148:5 – Affirming creation not evolution.
Psalms 148:6 – God does not change.
Psalms 148:13 – His name is Wonderful, Councilor, Almighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
Psalms 149:1 – Real Worship!
Psalms 149:2 – Sing praises together not separately. Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together.
Psalms 149:4 – God makes us beautiful in His sight with salvation. Without salvation we are like filthy rags that must be purified before being thrown in the garbage.
Psalms 150:1 – Real Worship!
