Proverbs 22-24
Proverbs 22:4 – Where the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom then by His grace we are supplied according to His riches in glory through Christ.
Proverbs 22:14 –
Proverbs 5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drip honey, and her palate is smoother than oil;
Proverbs 5:4 but afterward she is as bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two–edged sword.
Proverbs 22:15 –
Proverbs 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him early.
Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold correction from a boy, for if you beat him with the rod, he will not die.
Proverbs 23:14 You shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 22:22–23 – Solomon’s son did not learn from the wisdom that God gave to his father. He immediately began to oppress the people further.
Proverbs 23:13 – Punishment is a teaching device to guide their actions not something done in anger.
Proverbs 23:18 – Solomon could have picked this up from David’s recorded reaction to Solomon’s older brother’s death as an infant.
Proverbs 24:29 – Not an eye for an eye nor wealth for sloth but fair wages for fair work.
