Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in Your Word; and do not let any iniquity rule over me.
Chronological Bible Reading for April 1
Judges 6-7

Judges 6:1 – This is the fifth time Israel must pay retributions for their sin. Each generation does not learn from the previous generation.
Judges 6:11 – Threshing wheat needed a breeze to separate the grain from the husk. This is usually done on top of a hill out in the open where the wind can blow the husk away. Gideon however was not brave enough to be out in the open so he was hiding in the winepress.
Judges 6:13 – Gideon accuses God of forsaking Israel but it was Israel that forsook God.
Judges 6:15 – This sounds like Moses saying “Who am I, Who are You, How will I prove to them, I can’t speak well, Not me Lord, I am of uncircumcised lips”. Man is always afraid of putting himself on the line for God until he sees God’s success.
Judges 6:25 – Now let us think about this. The second bull is the one being prepared to replace the first bull. This bull is already seven years old and there may not be another ready when the first bull passes. This sacrifice may be a greater value than the first bull would have been.
Judges 6:37 – Even though God had shown Gideon such a sign of the consuming fire of the food, protection from retribution of the town’s people, and the gathering of the men of Israel to subdue their oppressors, he still is lacking in faith. He essentially says to God “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.”
Judges 7:2 – God wants to show Israel His faithfulness so that they may trust Him. He is also saying let Me help your belief again.
Judges 7:3 – Afraid for your life? God will be your army!
Judges 7:5 – Only the vigilant are chosen to be God’s tool for the defense of the land.
Judges 7:11 – God understood that Gideon was of little faith and needed a encouraging word to strengthen his resolve. Again God is there to strengthen Gideon’s unbelief. These accounts of historical events are here to also strengthen our belief that Jehovah cares for us and will give us the opportunity even by reading of these historical events to trust His preparation for us to serve Him in our lives.
Judges 7:15 – It is true that God uses others to encourage you by their recognition of your actions reflecting God’s work. And amazingly His enemies see it more than we do. I guess that we get accustomed to seeing the fluorescence of God in each other but the enemy of God is not accustomed to it and it shines brightly.
Judges 7:23 – God put fear in the enemy’s heart so that they killed each other and fled after seeing the 300 then the other men of Israel came out and slaughtered the remainder.
