Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of Your Commandments, and I will speak of Your wonderful works.
Bible Reading for August 9 (ONPP)
Galatians 1 – 3, Psalms 39
Galatians 1:7 – Not another good news but a perversion of the truth. While this perversion was adding works to trusting God, Satan uses perversion every time to draw people away from the truth.
Galatians 1:8–9 – A different news from even an angel is a false gospel. Satan was a disgraced angel along with a third of the host of angles. A preacher, being a fallen man as we are, with different news is accursed. If we are to spread the good news of God’s salvation we must be attentive to do it accurately.
Galatians 1:14 – God’s amazing Grace. He brought Paul from so much works to so much grace.
Galatians 2:2 – Paul did not want to usurp the authority of those that God put in charge of the Church in Jerusalem but he did want them to verify the Gospel that God revealed to him.
Galatians 2:12 – Peter was being two faced. First appearing to trust God’s grace with the gentiles of the church but then to shun them and cater to the Jew’s tradition.
Galatians 2:16 – The truth and basis of God’s justification from the beginning.
Galatians 2:18 – To throw away something that is harming you, and then to go back and dig it back up, shows that your heart was not with God, but only threw out the thing to get man’s approval, and then not appreciating that, going back to the harmful thing.
Galatians 2:21 – Yes, if one can obtain righteousness through works of balancing good and bad then Christ did die without cause. But we do not pay for our sins with good works we pay for our sins with DEATH. Good works does not a saint make.
Galatians 3:2 – Didn’t you throw away the works and accept God’s preparation of Grace for you. Why pick up works that cannot produce salvation?
Galatians 3:10 – Deuteronomy 27:26. None of us can fulfil the Law because we have all broken it.
Galatians 3:11 – Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, the soul of him is lifted up, and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.
Galatians 3:17 – Four hundred and thirty years after the promise the nation of Israel marked their doors by faith and left Egypt to go out and serve God.
Galatians 3:19 – The Law is a light to show us how much we fail to meet the requirements that works need to assure salvation. But by faith in the substitution of Christ’s punishment for our sin God is committed to see our salvation is secure.
Galatians 3:21 – If we could receive righteousness through works then there would be no righteousness through faith and Abraham’s example of believing God and it being counted to him for righteousness could not exist.
Galatians 3:22 – Faith is not ours but is given to us by Jehovah.
Galatians 3:24 – If the Law is a trainer we should learn our training and freely follow it by faith. As we train our children so God trains us.
