Bible Reading for April 7 (ONPP)
Judges 7 – 9, Psalm 83
Judges 7:2 – God wants to show Israel His faithfulness so that they may trust Him. He is also saying let Me help your belief again.
Judges 7:3 – Afraid for your life? God will be your army!
Judges 7:5 – Only the vigilant are chosen to be God’s tool for the defense of the land.
Judges 7:11 – God understood that Gideon was of little faith and needed a encouraging word to strengthen his resolve. Again God is there to strengthen Gideon’s unbelief. These accounts of historical events are here to also strengthen our belief that Jehovah cares for us and will give us the opportunity even by reading of these historical events to trust His preperation for us to serve Him in our lives.
Judges 7:15 It is true that God uses others to encourage you by their recognition of your actions reflecting God’s work. And amazingly His enemies see it more than we do. I guess that we get accustomed to seeing the fluorescence of God in each other but the enemy of God is not accustomed to it and it shines brightly.
Judges 7:23 – God put fear in the enemy’s heart so that they killed each other and fled after seeing the 300 then the other men of Israel came out and slaughtered the remainder.

Judges 8:20 – It is difficult for those without experience like Gideon was before The Angel of the Lord called upon him, to do what is necessary to defend the faith.
Judges 8:23 – Gideon realized that God was his strength and that Israel needed to have God as their strength. Even though Jehovah defeated the enemy of one hundred and thirty–five thousand with Gideon and three hundred men these Israelites want Gideon to lead them and not Jehovah.
Judges 8:27 – This ephod of victory became a idol because Israel was lusting after gold and not God.
Exo 20:4 You shall not make to yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Judges 8:33 – When Godly leadership is absent then man falls away from God. There will be a great falling away after God raptures His church before the Great Tribulation.
Judges 9:2 – Interesting that he would have talked about these seventy reigning over Shechem when Gideon would not rule over them nor allow his sons to rule over them.

Psalms 83:4 – God has been faithful to Israel and will continue to be.
Psalms 83:5 – God’s enemies come together with one purpose because they are led by their own hearts and made Satan their god.
Psalms 83:10 – These enemies have but one end, to be buried in the earth.
Psalms 83:16 – Yet our prayer is that God’s enemies would turn from their wicked ways and trust Him.
Psalm 83:18 – Amen and Amen.
